A Remarkable Year

The date for Tax Return dateline is getting closer. As I’m preparing for my tax return this year, I look at the big spending in this year, and I feel thrilled.

It has been a crazy year. An unprecedented time as many has said. And this year hasn’t come to a close yet. But by God’s grace, we’re able to give more than any years before.

I remember the year when my first was born, and I was grateful to God who supplies our needs. In that year, we gave to God’s work more than before. Unfortunately, when my second was still in the womb, my MIL was diagnosed with AMD (Acute Macular Degeneration) which caused her to lose sight on her left eye. We decided to treat her with one the best doctor in Singapore and it costs pain to our pocket.

This year, my MIL condition got worse from lymphoma and required treatment otherwise her life would be at risk. So it’s the biggest bill we’ve seen as a family. Again by God’s grace, we’re able to contribute to that cost. And therefore I would never think we would be able to support God’s work much with so many needs within our own family. Yet God’s grace enable us to share with the works in countries we never thought we would touch before, like: South Sudan, India, Cambodia, Latin America, and Afghanistan.

Yesterday my MIL called my wife to say that she had a dream that my wife gives birth on the street. I thought that’s probably a confirmation that our prayers for the street children (the other day I was reading for the girls about praying for street children) and our giving to various projects & needs around the world would bear fruit
