Today is Presidential Election day for Singapore, and my second time to cast my vote as citizen of Singapore. It is a mixed feeling over the past one month with the so many things happened around the world, at workplace, in our family, as well as my own personal journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I look with gratitude to God for this small size nation that has advanced so much in many aspects. I have said before and confirm it again by saying this country is small, but it is so advanced, smart, and well built. In many areas, I can be proud of Singapore. I see the strong spirit of the young, the energy of working class, and the fast movements; this place has a lot of energy, and I like this sense of being alive. It is good to be alive and active. It is not good to be alive and being sluggish and without motivation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
I read about one candidate Mr Tan Kin Lian, and his reason to put forward his name in this election. He mentioned about duty<\/em>. Again it is something that resonates with me. It is not the best term or best reason for something. But I recognise that powerful force. You can’t explain with reason, but it is noble. We all have a sense of duty. I am glad there are still people alive that sensitive to this nudge of duty<\/em>. He uses the terms duty & fate. I will call them calling<\/em>. Who calls? or Who issues the duty? There must be the caller or assigner before there is a call or duty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So in this unplanned<\/em> trip which I never dreamed or thought I would made at the beginning of 2023, I thank God for the convergence of high level energy, sense of duty, and lastly fate, which I prefer to call divine appointment<\/em>. When someone says fate \/ divine appointment, it means things do not happened by chance. There is something out there greater than myself that made things to happen the way they were.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So, thank you Lord for orchestrating everything so beautifully. I thank you for bringing me to Singapore in such a time like this. I did not choose, nor desire with all your plans. But I admit that your plans are better and higher than mine. I learnt a lot from the interaction with people whom You brought to me. I sense that You are not done yet with me, nor with this country. Thank you Lord for this nation. On its 58th birthday, on its Presidential Election day, Lord I pray for your blessings over this nation. May it remains as light among the nations, glimpses of hope and life in excellence, progress, kindness, and brotherly love.<\/strong> And I pray against divisive & unforgiving spirits in this nation.<\/strong> May children not afraid of adults, but respect the elderly.
