I had a bad dream last night. In the dream, the high school exam is about to happen soon, and I was not prepared to face the exam. A teacher is explaining something to the students, and I just don’t understand a single thing. When I look around my classmates, they seem understood. Then the teacher left, and I was terrified that I completely don’t understand! What was written on the blackboard more like a puzzle with some chinese characters which I don’t know the meaning.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I woke up and felt troubled, and opened up my Bible. I read the story of first Sunday morning when the women went to the tomb to anoint Jesus’ body. I felt I read it afresh about these women. They’re such devout and simple people.<\/p>\n

They didn’t care about the stone (that will block them). They didn’t suspect the stone (when it was rolled away) and they just went in straight. They were so focus on Jesus that the first thing they looked was his body. I was reminded about my own wife. She has been with me for the last 9 years, and she shared many of these women characteristics of simple follower and devout to the task. She might not have the muscle to roll the stone, or suspicion when something doesn’t look right, but always look for Jesus.<\/p>\n

Then, out of the sudden, what the angels said surprised me. They asked the women and brought to their memory 2 things:<\/p>\n

  1. How Jesus told them<\/li>\n
  2. What Jesus told them<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    It surprises me because the angels could easily told these women, that Jesus had told them. Instead they drew their minds to how Jesus told them. Why is it important to bring up the first point?<\/p>\n

    As I recalled my childhood and growing up years. I realised that a lot of times, I don’t remember facts and lessons that I learnt. But I remember how i was taught. And from those memories, I could recall what I learnt.<\/p>\n

    Hence, if we want to be really an effective teacher, not only we need to know well our subject. We need to tell it in a way that’s memorable for our students to be able to remember.<\/p>\n
