When she was still a baby, we saw this persistent character in her. She would not be distracted nor satisfied with anything less than what she has set her eyes on. She would persist till she got what she wants.<\/p>\n

2 days ago, she told me that she prayed 10 times. I didn’t take that much into account, till later at night, my wife told me the story. She told me that the whole day was raining, and this little girl wanted to go for swimming. So she prayed that God stopped the rain.<\/p>\n
Connecting the dots of the two stories, I got a picture of a little girl who’s persistent in her prayers. She might pray 10 times, or even more, over the same thing, till she got it. And it was a miracle, that the rain just stopped for that short awhile, for her to go for her swimming class, then the rain resumed back.<\/p>\n
Yesterday, she told me that she keeps praying for my eyes. I know how it sounds. It sounds very childish if not crazy. My eyes has been an issue from young, and no doctor could have cured it. And this little girl, simply believe that God could heal, so she prays. I call that faith like a little child.<\/p>\n
No wonder that Jesus links the persistent prayer to faith (read Luk 18:1-8). In the beginning, Jesus taught the disciples to pray and not give up. In the closing, He asks if He would find faith on earth, as if our persistent prayers show our faith in Him. And that faith pleases Him.<\/p>\n
And one characteristic of children is their simple belief. They have not developed the faculty of human logic and thinking. But for that reason, Jesus commended them (Luk 18:16-17) ~ “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.\u00a0Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.<\/em>“<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" When she was still a baby, we saw this persistent character in her.
