What Are You Made For

But ask the animals, and they will teach you,
or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; ~Job 12:7 (NIV)

I am still pretty much shocked in awe and wonder when my girl shared with me about what she learnt about bird. She is probably would be a good teacher that impact her students.

First, she said,”birds are different from other animals, because they have feathers.” In a way that’s how they’re known and identified as birds. Not through their abilities to fly, because insects fly, but they don’t have feathers.”

Two, if a bird drop a feather on one part of its body, it will drop another feather on the opposite side of the body. Do you know why? So that the bird could balance and fly.

That’s so mind blowing for me. I’ve seen my girls collecting feathers. And it never occur to me that it’s so that these birds could fly. If they drop feathers just like us dropping our hairs, there won’t be much use. But they drop their opposite feathers to fly, that must be wondrous design behind it.

Third, the bone of birds are exceptional. It is hard, strong, but hollow, and therefore it is light as well, to enable them to fly. In a way, birds are really made to fly. The whole design of their bodies, parts, behaviors, and instict is just so much awesome for the purpose of flying.

Which of all these does not know
that the hand of the Lord has done this? ~ Job 12:9 (NIV)

It makes me so amazed at how God design things. Jesus speaks of man & woman with much greater delight and esteem than the birds of the air. Biologist and scientists just blowed by the complexity and design of human’s bodies and brains.

The next time you look at yourselves, your hands and feet, pause for awhile to ask God,”What do you made for?”

Knowing deep in your heart the reason what you are made for is such a tremendous joy and peace.
