Remembering my girl’s sweet deeds

Today is a valentine’s day, and my wife felt sick. To our surprise and delight, our older girl decided to pray for mama.

After dinner, she rose up, and told me that she would want to pray for mama. She was supposed to watch her song movie (which she wanted to watch yesterday), but she went into the room and prayed first. Then she came out and watched. What a beautiful and sweet gesture of her. May the Lord keep her heart right & straight like this. One of her character is this charming sweetness. From young she’s the sweet little girl that will comfort you when you’re sad and down.

Then came the bed time. Our second girl surprisingly decided to sleep with her sister. She showed readiness and determination. So i thought today finally could be the day. Everything went well, till when I about to switch off the light, then she cried. So I ended up to bring her out. And I kept repeating the question why she’s afraid of dark.

Then I asked my older girl, if she were afraid of darkness too. To my surprise, she told me that she’s afraid of darkness too, but she won’t feel afraid if daddy is around. What a biblical answer she had. It echoes Psalm 23, which David sang that because God is with me, I won’t be afraid of evil.

To be afraid is normal & human. But the only antidote of fear is God’s presence. That reassures me of the future. I would not be afraid when God is with me.
