Long updates over eventful past

The days are long but the times are short. There were quite many events happened between last post and this post. Instead of going back in time, I would prefer to write a summary of those events. Let the memory stay for those been there. And let the story be read by those following this blog

Child Dedication

It was probably the highlight of the year. We have been wanting to do this for the beginning of the year. But due to circumstance, we only managed to do it on 24th April. Nevertheless, it went out really well. It was quite last-minute. God reminded my pastor as I bumped into him, and then we’re left with one week to make it happen. So he confirmed the date, we sent out invitation, and ordered the food, and it turned out very well.

Thanks to my mum in law that cleaned up the house till the last corners. Thanks to our friends that spent their time to be with us on Sunday evening, we’re really blessed by their support, love, and presence. Some even have to leave earlier without tasting the food to attend their family matters. Thanks for our pastor that gave his precious time and blessed us with God’s Word, and prayed for our daughter. Thanks for my wife that did all the amazing stuff which without all these would be impossible.

Thanks be to God who blessed this little girl abundantly. After her dedication, she was changed into a different person. She became more responsive and engaging. She became more active and alive. Overall, she became better spiritually and socially. I thought we found the secret of a good children….have them dedicated to the Lord!

Family Holiday

Thanks to my wife that insisted we should visit my grandmother. It was such a rare opportunity to meet her and converse with her. I thank God that give her long life and good health. But above all, she’s very clear on God’s care over her. She has less worry and are strong in her faith. Her mind is still sharp, and it’s just amazing to spend the time with her.

Thank God also for the time that we had with the big family. We’re truly blessed by their hospitality and their generous gift. Thank God that protected the children from the measles.

Thank God we had opportunity to visit my aunt. She’s the one who prayed for children for my wife & I. So we brought out children as the answer of her prayers. What a wonderful thing. She was prompted to go to my in law and pray over my wife. Immediately my wife became pregnant after that. God is good.

Lastly, thank God that i had a good night dating with my wife. It was probably one a rare occasion. Probably 7 or 8 years ago we dated, before we had our children. Nothing special, but that 1 hour i pray my wife would remember.

Fighting Illness

This was perhaps the last anybody has ever wanted during a holiday. My second girl fell sick on the 3rd night of our holiday. The electricity went out in the middle of the night. Then she vomited. So that’s our family experience without electricity, in a foreign land, not in our own house. There’re two young children, the weather very hot, and no aircon. They cried and it was just bad.

I learnt something precious through that experience. Parents were so wonderful, that God is so wonderful. It’s probably the experience both my wife and I would never forget. So both of us fan our girls to sleep. I fan the big one and my wife fan the young one. Our hands were so tired, yet we still do it. The sight of them sleeping peacefully was our rewards.

The 4th night, our young girl got high fever, 39.1. Then we had to take train the next afternoon. Thank God the fever left her in the train. And the next night, the big one that had high fever. On the last day, it’s my turn to have fever.

I continued my fever for 3 nights. And then it’s the 1 week illness for the two girls. We went to see doctor on Monday, given antibiotics, and there the family suffering to care for two young children that were ill. My wife braved it all to go through those suffering nights. Because my young ones that like to vomit. Almost every night she would vomit many times. She vomit on her, vomit on the bed, vomit when taking her medicine.

Today was the first day we go out together as family again (after two weeks we stayed at home). In fact i’m praying hard for my wife not to fall sick. She’s not been feeling well since last Thursday. May the Lord strengthen her physically and mentally too.
