Learn to Lead

Remember that I commanded you to be strong and brave. So don’t be afraid. The Lord your God will be with you everywhere you go. ~ Jos 1:9

It is a scary thing. They call me CIO. They give me space. They trust me. They praise me. They look to me.

Leadership is a scary thing for me. I’ve failed many times. I don’t think I’m good at it. I don’t think my personality is for it. And often time, I prefer just to follow than to be at the front. Ocassionally, I volunteer myself.

The above verse becomes my pillar of strength. It’s not what other people think of me, or what I think of myself. But what God think of me that’s important.

Learning from history, all leaders make mistake. Even Joshua made mistake. David and Joseph made mistakes too. And God still love and commended them.

So, here I am Lord. Please help me for your name’s sake. To be brave and courageous, not to be afraid, not to be discouraged. For you are with me. Please give me wisdom. Please help me not to be afraid making mistakes. Not to be afraid of opposition. Not to be discouraged by setback and failures of myself or others. But be brave.

Please give me humility. For in humility, I will find Your grace, that will help me through this scary season. Help me to know Your joy, to be my strength. Not to be burdensome or a drag, but as a calling. Please stretch me out, and enlarge my capacity. Again, for You who have called me, is Faithful and Loving.
