Children at their best (1)

This evening, I just witnessed one of the most beautiful aspect of childlikeness.

Besides they don’t bear grudges, they also share their possessions happily.

This evening, I played with my two girls. When my older girl was playing with her new sticker book, the youngest one was sitting on my lap. Then the jie jie came and asked the sister to choose one of the sticker. Of course the little girl chose happily. She always wanted what the jie jie has.

The jie jie gave one that the sister wanted. It was a very nice sticker i thought. She must have want it for herself. Anyway, she then asked the sister to stick the sticker on the book. And it made the sister so happy to play with the sticker.

It didn’t stop there. She came again to the sister, and then asked the sister to pick another sticker. When the sister picked the empty sticker, she didn’t play it against her. But she told the little sister to choose again because what she chose was empty. How many of us adult will do that? I probably would consider that choice as valid to my advantage. But it was not so for children. They share willingly and happily.

So it happened again the second time. By this time, the sister already chose 2 very nice stickers and paste it anyhow.

And, the same thing happened again for the third time. She knew it’s the third time. But she didn’t show any sign of entitlement that she’s doing something big. She’s just doing it from her heart. And it’s time for me to stop it. I told them that’s enough, otherwise if it keeps continuing, the jie jie would give all her stickers to the mei mei.

It touched my heart, how young children share their things without thinking about themselves. They don’t know that if they give away something for others, it means taking away something from theirs. I don’t know. I can’t understand their mind. When i told my girl that she lose the stickers to the mei mei. She replied me that she’s still have a lot stickers, which i could see it’s going away one by one so quickly.Either she really didn’t see or couldn’t count…..or she’s still in that state that she knows she has a lot more that she can give a few (even though those few are her nicest stickers).

Thank you Lord for giving me such wonderful daughter. May you keep her pure & blameless. Bless that young heart of hers.
