But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer has been heard,…” ~ Luke 1:13
Earlier, we were told that Zechariah was a righteous man (v.8), who walks blamelessly in ALL the commandments of the Lord. So he was the equivalent of Noah and Abraham during the older time, and like Samuel and Daniel during the nation of Israel.
And we were not told what Zechariah’s prayer exactly. It could be prayers for himself, for his family, and for his nation. Whatever it was, God heard his prayer, and sent his angel to him.
“And you will have joy and gladness, …” ~ Luke 1:14
May we not grow weary and tired of praying. For God heard all prayers, and when the time comes, we would be surprised by the answer He gave.
